WE are the Maghull and Lydiate Art Group, or 'malag' for short, we are based at the Lydiate Village Centre, Lambshear Lane, Lydiate, Liverpool, L31 2LA, Telephone; 0151 527 2662. We are a large and friendly art group with over 87 enthusiastic artist/members who meet up every Tuesday morning at 9:30 to get creative. Fees are £20.00 per year and are payable at the AGM at the beginning of April…this has been suspended until further notice because of the pandemic, as from April 2020. New members can join any time.
We are based in the Lydiate Village Centre on Lambshear Lane, Lydiate, Liverpool, L31 2LA.
What do we do? We paint and draw and get 'creative'…Every year we have our Annual Exhibition where our members/artists put their artwork on show, some of which are for sale. These exhibitions have always been a success with many people from all around Maghull and Lydiate area…and sometimes coming from further afield to buy artwork from local artists.
On the first Friday of every month we have an artist come to the Maghull and Lydiate Art Group to deliver a demonstration, these demonstrations have been very popular and also well attended for many years, with some artists well known nationally. Other activities we do in the group are workshops where artists from the group share their skills and knowledge with other members. We also visit art exhibitions around the country, sometime with other art clubs in the area joining us.
